Marina Latta

For over 20 years, Marina Latta has been working with clay every day in her studio in Grasse. After completing countless workshops in Raku and “fire arts” in Vallauris, she has become a true master of this discipline, which is derived from an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 16th century.

The term "Raku" comes from a character meaning "happiness in chance," and this firing technique is perfectly suited to Marina LATTA's African influences.

These smoke-stained surfaces yield deep blacks—matte or satin-finished—that absorb light and make the pieces’ vivid, shimmering colors glow.
Each time the pieces come out of the kiln is a new adventure, the artist skillfully harnessing its unpredictability.

Since 1999, this exceptional artist has performed in MOUGINS, PARIS, MONACO, CANNES, VALLAURIS, VENCE, STRASBOURG, and also in CHICAGO in the USA. She has a long and distinguished career ahead of her.
