FABIEN NOVARINO
A native of Savoie, Fabien Novarino spent his childhood in the heart of the mountains, where he enjoyed drawing, painting, and model-making. He later moved with his family to the south of France.
His love for wide open spaces was then turned upside down by this radical change, both climatic and landscape. This new location would strongly influence him and definitively establish his determination to become a painter.
Fabien Novarino studied literature and was a frequent visitor to museums and exhibitions before embarking on a career in business. At the age of 27, he left his professional career to devote himself entirely to pursuing the passion he had held since his youth. Initially influenced by the Provençal school, he produced numerous paintings featuring a variety of figurative subjects, ranging from landscapes of his region to depictions of scenes from everyday life. The colors are vivid, the brushwork expressive. He later broadened his scope of exploration by turning his gaze toward decidedly different places with striking contrasts, such as New York or Paris.
Since 2010, having set aside his easel, Fabien Novarino has incorporated photography into his work, evolving his pictorial style toward a more contemporary aesthetic. Using personal photographs or professional images acquired from agencies, Fabien creates original graphic works in the neo-Pop style—a worthy heir to the Pop Art movement that emerged in the 1950s. Crafted from a subtle blend of collages, drawings, and stencils, his canvases draw inspiration from icons of American and French cinema, modern urbanism, and the world of comics. Resolutely contemporary, his art is a beautiful tribute to the entertainment industry.
The works of Fabien Novarino
Today, the result of several years of artistic and technical research, FABIEN NOVARINO presents a brand new work in cut metal and acrylic glass, assembled on several planes, connected to each other by spacers. True 3D wall sculptures, these original creations take up the themes that are dear to him: vanity with its butterflies revisited with an offbeat and pop eye, vintage magazines from which he recomposes improbable headlines with absolute icons, comics from the 50s interpreted in a very current Street Art style. His works, with their magnetic power of seduction and astonishing plasticity, intrigue, force curiosity and arouse the desire of amateurs and great collectors throughout the world.
