JACQUES VAN DEN ABEELE
This remarkable artist was born in Belgium in 1960. After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Oudenaarde, he was awarded the Belgian government diploma and medal for decorative arts and sculpture.
Jacques Van den Abeele also holds a diploma in life drawing from the Saint Lucas Academy in Ghent. For each bronze, Jacques Van den Abeele sculpts the wax directly, giving each number an original touch that makes it unique. Accustomed to working in foundries, the artist chisels his own sculptures and adds the final touch of patina.
Jacques Van den Abeele plays with emptiness and fullness to lend power and mystery to his subjects, whether characters or animals, and to stimulate the public's imagination. Music is a powerful source of inspiration for him. The artist has won numerous awards. His works have been acquired by museums, municipalities and collectors in many countries.
